To be considered for the award, an individual must meet the following criteria:
The nomination should be received on or before May 1st using the form below. Please email any questions to Lindsay Burnett lburnett@astate.edu.
To support your nomination, you may submit up to six pages of information for the selection committee’s consideration. This may include a vita, newspaper or magazine clippings, letters of support, etc. Please be as concise as possible in order to facilitate the sharing of this information with the committee. Numerous letters of recommendation are not a significant factor in the committee’s deliberation. The committee will review no more than a total of seven (7) 8 1/2" x 11" pages for each nomination.
Nominations received by the deadline will be presented to the selection committee for evaluation for the current year’s awards. Materials received after the deadline will be considered for the following year. A nomination is retained for three consecutive years. There is no limit on the number of times a person can be nominated. Current faculty, staff, members of the A-State Alumni Association Board of Directors, and Board of Trustees are not eligible for consideration.
The Distinguished Alumnus Awards are presented at Homecoming each year. All former recipients are also recognized at the event.
