Online Masters Degree in Education |

To Arkansas State University’s Alumni:
ASU-Jonesboro is embarking on an exciting new initiative to expand its student learning opportunities by offering more of its programs online. This will be beneficial to alumni who are K-12 teachers and want to pursue a Master of Education Degree in Theory and Practice, beginning this fall. This degree program offers practitioners an opportunity to improve their general understanding of curriculum theory and best practices and also assists candidates who wish to prepare for National Board Certification.
Instruction through distance learning technologies, such as this initiative at ASU, is rapidly becoming a more significant part of the American system of higher education. We are partnering with a company to offer our own programs with our own faculty in a superb, high quality, Web-based format.
Through the convenience of the Internet, teachers may complete a master’s degree through ASU-Jonesboro in approximately 18 months, at a flat-rate price below that of similar on-campus programs. ASU faculty will design and teach the courses, and thus will assure academic quality and integrity of the programs offered in this format. Those who participate will receive the same high quality educational experiences and benefits as those who are enrolled in traditional on-campus instruction.
While we are informing our family of alumni now, we also welcome you to refer your friends and associates to ASU for more details. This is a wonderful opportunity, especially for teachers in Arkansas.
Best regards,
Robert L. Potts Chancellor Arkansas State University-Jonesboro
