SAMPLE QUESTIONS FOR STUDENTS TO ASK:

-What interests you most about your career?

-What do you like least about your career?

-What is the most important attribute for a person in [alumni’s profession] to possess?

-Is there any certain thing that you recommend me doing while I am still in school?

-Any type of extracurricular activities in college that helped you choose or grow toward this career?  

-In what course in college did you learn the most about your current profession?

-Will [name of course] benefit my knowledge of this field?

-Would you recommend taking [name of course] as an elective?

-Would you recommend [name of minor] as a beneficial minor?

-Did you intern at any corporations or business while in college? Was it a beneficial experience? Was it hard to obtain an internship?

-What is your best job interview advice?

-Would you recommend graduate school? If so, do you know any schools that offer             good graduate programs in this field?

-Do you recommend any companies that might be good for recent graduates to work for?

-Do you travel much for your profession? Out of the country?

-Do you have any “words of wisdom” or quotes you live by?

-Any other general advice concerning our field?

These are just some sample starter questions that you can ask your AMEN partner. Feel free to ask more, but just remember to be courteous! You don’t have to necessarily agree with all their answers, just be respectful.
