Volunteer Leadership Award of Excellence |
| |
Created in 2003 by the ASU Alumni Association, the Volunteer Leadership Award of Excellence honors an Association member who exemplifies outstanding commitment to the alumni chapter program through his or her volunteer efforts.
Nominations are submitted by Alumni Association members and meet the following guidelines:
· Active member of the ASU Alumni Association
· Demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the alumni chapter program through a contribution of time and talent
· Recognizes the importance of his or her education at ASU, who demonstrates pride in alma mater and whose interest and loyalty are evident.
The 2005 Volunteer Leadership Award of Excellence is presented to
Kimberly Dale '99
When Kimberly moved to Stuttgart two years ago, she revived a chapter that had become inactive due to a lack of leadership. Although she never took the official role of president, Kimberly became the leader of the group, finding new volunteers, reenergizing previous volunteers, and organizing events.
The most recent event held in Arkansas County was a Summer Celebration, an event that garnered a record crowd of more than 100 people. She continued to help plan the event, all while moving from Stuttgart to Paragould. Although the alumni in Stuttgart will miss her, we are glad Kimberly is still willing to stay active no matter where she lives.
The member who nominated Kimberly says:
“Being a stranger in a small town never hampered her efforts to be a clear and classy voice for ASU.
She has been our fearless leader organizing, encouraging and motivating us to meet and participate in several local events to bring attention to Arkansas State University and bind the alumni in our area.
You will not find a better example of an Arkansas State graduate who brings pride to the university and continually promotes her alma mater.”
Congratulations to Kimberly Dale!
